Ajay Suman Shukla grew up and completed his schooling in a rural area in Auraiya District of Uttar Pradesh. He completed M. Phil. in social work and post graduated from University of Lucknow with an MSW, where he was first exposed to the social sector and the work of Non-profit organizations. Since July 2009 Ajay is working with LEAD (LEders Accelerating Development) Program of Deshpande Foundation, Hubli, Karnataka, a program creating young Leaders. Ajay is a fellow Deshpande fellowship program on social entrepreneurship. Ajay has worked for one and a half years as Secretariat (Program) Associate with Men’s Action for Stopping Violence Against Women (MASVAW), which had a developed network working in 36 districts of Uttar Pradesh on ending gender discrimination and VAW. Ajay is keenly interested in networking, leadership, social entrepreneurship and securing people’s involvement in development action, particularly in efforts involving youth. Ajay is keenly interested in training youth and enhance their confidence and self motivation.

LEAD Prayana a unique leadership journey


PRAYANA

An initiative of LEaders Accelerating Development (LEAD) of Deshpande Foundation, Hubli,  LEAD PRAYANA is devised to bring young and talented minds together to unleash their leadership potential. PRAYANA, as the name signifies, is a leadership journey  where we take 100 participants from18-25 years of age on a leadership tour of Karnataka in January 2013. This twelve-day odyssey gives participants an opportunity to meet the leaders who have demonstrated efficient leadership by working relentlessly in their field of interest for the benefit of the society. The objective of this event is to inspire innovation and  leadership potential in every participant. The journey covers Hubli, Murudeshwar, Manipal, Dharmasthala, Mysore, Kuppam (AP), Bangalore, Chitradurga and Dharwad.

Deshpande Fellowship Program, Tenth Batch



Deshpande Fellowship Program is now receiving applications for tenth batch. Deshpande fellowship program was begun in order to empower a major untapped resource in the development field: hungry young people with plenty of potential to go for in their field who are held back only by their skills and self- confidence. DFP seeks change that and help participate to realize the true potential and ambitions.

This rigorous 7½ month residential leadership development program,Through NGOs visits, village studies, entrepreneurial and Leadership activities and intensive course work, fellows gain skills needed to become true leaders in their chosen field.  

With a concentration on social entrepreneurship and innovation, the DFP has transformed over 200 fellows into entrepreneurial young leaders. Kindly spread the words with your colleagues, friends and who interested to become part of the Fellowship Program.

Master of Social Entrepreneurship

DET’s Deshpande Center for Social Entrepreneurship (DCSE), Launched Master of Social Entrepreneurship (MSE) program affiliated to Karnatak University and Approved by Government of Karnataka. For the first time in Karnataka DCSE has launched a two year master’s program on social entrepreneurship which will be called as MSE. This is a regular post graduation residential program and students will get a master’s degree from Karnatak University on comp letion of the course. The program will include subjects such as such as Entrepreneurship, Information Communication Technology(ICT) , Social Innovation, Agribusiness Management, Business Plan Writing, Financial Management for Entrepreneurs, Communication for business, Marketing for Entrepreneurs , Legal framework for Enterprise Building, Organizational Development & Human Resource for new enterprises among many others.
Along with the world class academic learning, the pedagogy also focuses on experiential learning which creates real world, hands on experience to students. Experiential learning ensures the necessary mindset to be entrepreneurial and achievement oriented in approach. Students will get opportunities interact with world renowned guest speakers and faculties from different sectors and the same will help them build their perspective on entrepreneurship. The program will benefit by leveraging Deshpande Foundation network of more than 95 organizations working in the field of Enterprise building, Livelihoods, Education and others. Moreover program will also benefit from global network of Deshpande Foundation’s associates such as University of New Brunswick, Canada, MIT Deshpande Center, USA who are committed to make entrepreneurship an integral part academic learning. On completion of the program students can persue their entrepreneurial ideas through Deshpande foundation’s Entrepreneurs in Residence Program. EIR currently supports several such start ups which were incubated and have now grown into successful enterprises. Students will be also given placement support by leveraging our network of social and for profit enterprises. Who can apply: Graduates from any discipline can apply for this course and selection will be done as per PGCET/University guidelines. Students who are looking unleash their entrepreneurial and leadership potential can apply for this course.
